Prior to filing your claim with your insurance carrier, please have your policy number and claim details available for the claims adjuster.

What to do if you're in an accident

Immediately check on all passengers, other vehicles, and pedestrians for injuries. Call 911 and report any injuries to start a public safety response.
Move your vehicle to a safe spot away from traffic, if possible.
Do not discuss the accident with anyone except the police.
Get a copy of the accident report from the police, or find out from the officer how to obtain a copy of the report.
Take notes of the accident details, including the place, time of day, description of damages to your vehicle, other vehicles, and property involved. Use your smartphone to take pictures of any damage.
Get the following information from the other driver(s) involved in the accident: Name, Phone Number, Drivers License Number, License plate state & number, VIN of vehicle, Insurance Carrier, and Insurance Policy Number
It is easier to take pictures of the VIN and other information.
